Welcome back all you
comic book junkies.
A lot of things have occurred in the world of
Highburn Studios since our last update. First
off, Heroes Con was a big success. We debuted
two new comics... the long awaited and highly
anticipated Tribulations #1. It's a different take
from the norm about a superhero who loses
everything and is forced to go down a path for which
he may, or may not be ready. Story and Art by Lyle
(the hardest working man in comics) Pollard, with
colors by Mike Watkins and letters by yours truly.
Also, debuting was the re-launch of Dressed to Kill #1 by Randy ( I like to call you while ordering at the drive-thru) Parker. He has revamped his super-villain fueled series and taken it in a new direction with the creative team of Lyle Pollard doing layouts and Chris McJunkin ( of Ninja Garden fame) doing finishing layouts and inks. Mike Watkins is currently working on the nest issue of Guardians as we speak. Guardians #3 promises to grab your attention with the introduction of Samurai. The team has to recruit a new member after the brutal death of Renegade and Samurai is the only candidate capable to replace him, but what happens when he turns down the job offer? Mike also recently reaccquired the rightst to Hero Complex, which means finally after several years the reappearance of Blue Balls is on the way. Look for it as an exclusive web comic to this site. John Anderson is currently working on his upcoming series," Liberators." This is something he has been developing for some time now and has a huge universe of characters at his fingertips that he has created for the series. I've read the script and all I can say is that this is one of the most well planned and well paced stories I've read in awhile. Stay posted to the Highburn forums for more news on the book as it develops. Now that all that's been said. Other than living a secret life as a bad karaoke Rock Star, I'm currently drawing my short horror story for my upcoming horror anthology from Midnight Horizon Comics. I'm also currently lettering Expulse #2 along with re-vamping my Slayer series due out next year. Look for updates and more info about the Slayer re-launch in the upcoming months. ...and now for the Big news. Platinum Studios is currently in negotiations to buy WOWIO ? Wowio as you know is the online publisher of Guardians and other quality Indie comics. This buyout could be a huge jump for Guardians as well as Indie comics all together.
